Every month, The Residences at Forest Park Hotel honors one resident’s pet with the Pet of the Month title. Residents submit their pets to be chosen and create biographies about their pets to share with their neighbors.
December’s Pet of the Month award was given to two pets – Oliver and Maya, resident Victoria Levasseur’s cats.
Oliver and Maya started out life at the Columbia, Missouri humane society. They were adopted during my third year of medical school training at the University of Missouri. Oliver was four months old when he was adopted, and Maya was one year old. They became fast friends (for the most part) and continue to keep each other company while I am at work. We continued our adventure to Saint Louis together for residency and have been loving the city life. The cats have both been enjoying their perch over the dog park for the last year. Oliver also enjoys playing fetch with hair ties, eating leftover yogurt and turning everyday household objects into opportunities for a game. He loves meeting new visitors at the door. Maya enjoys chasing lasers around the house and snuggling under blankets at night. She also has a strange fascination with broccoli and other root vegetables.
