July events in Lafayette Square

The Lafayette Park Gazebo will host multiple musical acts throughout the month of July as well as a film for the community to enjoy. Make sure these events make it onto your calendar:

Concert in the Park: The Funky Butt Brass Band has been voted the Best Funk and Soul band by the Riverfront Times for four of the last five years. This group of six musicians puts a unique twist on traditional New Orleans brass. If the name seems familiar, they have played at the Roots N Blues N BBQ festival in Columbia and at the Taste of St. Louis. The Funky Butt Brass Band will perform at the Lafayette Park Gazebo on July 2 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Concert in the Park: The Retro Boogie Band has traveled around the world, playing everything from pop and rock ‘n’ roll to disco and R&B. This group will bring high energy and the strong vocal talents of sisters Roz Moore and Bev Boyd to the Lafayette Park Gazebo on July 16 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm.

Movie in the Park: Organized by the Arts council of Lafayette Square, a movie will be screened in the Lafayette Park Gazebo on July 23 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The title will be announced at a later date.

Concert in the Park: St. Louis’ own Jim Stevens Group has become an in demand, exciting band across the Midwest. This group mixes soul, blues, rock and jazz, playing songs from B.B King, Al Green and Stevie Wonder. The Jim Stevens Group will be at Lafayette Park Gazebo on July 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
